Corporate Biography – Editorial Intelligence
"e.i provides a bridge between two media worlds….clever and serious"
A.C Grayling, Professor of Philosophy, Birkbeck College
Editorial Intelligence – or e.i – is the media business which was the first to identify the media prominence of ‘The Commentariat’ – the world of newspaper and blog comment and opinion which influences not only the dynamics of the various debates, but also the shape and direction of surrounding policy, legislation and public opinion.
Brainchild of communications expert Julia Hobsbawm, e.i has established itself in just a year to become the portal to The Commentariat through providing analysis, research and training as well as a thriving publishing and networking business for corporate, government and non profit clients.
Says Hobsbawm “ei was born in response to the rising power of the ‘Commentariat’ and a frustration that there was no intelligence on the market that can help make sense of the trajectory of opinion forming.”
Editorial Intelligence brings together on its board and through a stellar group of advisers and contributing editors in London and New York some of the finest minds in business, policy and politics, journalism and public relations.
e.i’s board comprises Charlie Burgess, former Managing Editor of The Independent; Neil Stewart of Neil Stewart Associates; and Derek Wyatt MP, Chair, All-Party Parliamentary Group on the Internet.
The full list of e.i advisers and contributing editors which is updated regularly is on www.editorialintelligence.com but ranges from columnist and broadcaster Yasmin Alibhai Brown of The Independent and Evening Standard, former editor of the Daily Express Susan Douglas; Daniel Finkelstein, Comment Editor of The Times and editor of the Times’ Comment Central to John Lloyd, Director of the Oxford Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism and Stefan Stern of the Financial Times. e.i also enlists the advice of senior movers and shakers in PR and corporate communications such as CEO of Weber Shandwick, Colin Byrne, Ian Wright, Corporate Relations Director DIAGEO; Matt Peacock, Director of Communications, Ofcom as well as George Soros’s head of Communications Michael Vachon.
